I can hardly believe we are already to Thanksgiving. Wasn’t yesterday the start of the summer? It sure feels like time is flying bye and we are trying are best to capture each day and make the most of it but seriously where did August and September go? I dare say it but before we know it Christmas will be here! Hard to believe but its the truth! I can’t say fall is my favourite time of year but I do appreciate it and enjoy the cooler temperatures and the chance to enjoy all the changes in the leaves and the opportunities to be “cozy”. Thanksgiving is such a pivotal holiday in my life. I feel like it is such a great opportunity to really stop and take a moment to think about all the amazing things in my life I have to be thankful for. The things I don’t on a daily bases even think about. I also try to use it as a chance to make sure I thank those people in my life that play such a huge part in shaping me to be who I am… the people that support me through this journey of life.

As usual we will spend Thanksgiving up north at the cottage but we will be hosting dinner back at our house on Monday evening so of course I had to get working on my tablescape. A beautiful table sets the ambience and also is a huge focal point for people to see. In our new house because it is such an open concept (which I love) our table really can stand out if I want it to. Of course doing a tablescape is something I love because it is a chance for me to use my creative side.

I wanted my Thanksgiving tablescape to be a reflection of my style as well as incorporate some things from the season. I naturally stuck to a neutral colour pallet and used gold as a pop of “colour” and an accent.

I added some elements of texture with the bark on the candles and the grain of the table mixed with the linen runner and paper placemats. The focal points are the dessert plates that have seasonal messages on them and I really didn’t want to over power that table with too much that you missed the plates and their sayings.

By adding the little white pumpkins they not only add a holiday feel but you could easily add some names to them and use them as place cards as well for seating arrangements.

So there is my Thanksgiving tablescape. Nothing super elaborate but a true reflection of my style and easy to throw together but in my opinion looks beautiful. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend how ever you are spending it and I hope you are spending it with the people in your life that you are thankful for. I am thankful for each of you my readers! You are such an encouragement in my life and I love connecting with each of you and for the relationships I have built because of this blog!
