It is crazy to me how quickly you forget things like what it is like to care for a newborn in such a short amount of time! Less than 23 months ago I brought home my baby boy from the hospital and a short 15 months early I brought my first daughter home for the hospital and yet each time feels like the first all over again. It is also probably not surprising how quickly things i.e. baby equipment changes and improves. Also as most people know each baby is just as unique and different so what works for one may not work for the other! When we first found out we would be becoming parents again I started doing my research about what are the latest tools and gadgets for baby! What are the things I need to try this time around. It is easy to quickly become over whelmed by all the options out there. Obviously since it isn’t my third there were some things I didn’t need to look for like my stroller since I’ll continue to use my Bugaboo Donkey (which I love) and I will use my crib that we used for my first daughter. But than there are some things new that I want to try out like my new car seat. So today I want to share some of my newest finds that I think new mommy’s should try!
Baby wearing is a very popular thing right now and something I never really tried with my previous two baby’s but knew I wanted to with the newest one! Since I never had the precious 9 months to bond with my loves in utero (due to adoption) the first few months once they are born are super important for bonding. There are so many amazing different options for baby wearing out there right now but I have been loving using my Solly Baby Wrap! I can throw it on put baby in it and make dinner and she will sleep as snug as a bug in it. Recently on my trip to Vancouver I wore her in it the entire time through the airport and it was wonderful I didn’t even have to take her out of it to go through security so it was super handy to have and she just slept peacefully in it. I get compliments on my wrap every time I wear it out and I am so thankful for it.
Another new product that I knew I needed to try was a car seat cover from Milk Snob. This cover is super light weight and I love the trendy fabric colours! The beautiful thing with this cover is can be used while baby is an infant as a cover for the car seat, a cover for while nursing and as baby grows you can use it as a shopping cart cover to keep baby away from all the nasty germs found on the shopping carts. I am so happy with my Milk Snob car seat cover.
My mamaroo has also been a life safer. It is a like a second set of hands and with my baby suffering from reflux the adjustable incline of the seat has been super helpful! I also love that it is a sleak looking swing not large and bulky and can fit into my home decor seamlessly. When my friends saw baby using it they commented on how it is like the cadillac of baby swings with all the fancy settings ect. We love our mamaroo and use it daily! I also really like that the mobile has a black and white side as well as a colourful side for when baby can see colours!
My Bugaboo Donkey has been so handy! I purchased the Donkey when my son was born after having used the Bugaboo Cameleon with my daughter and loved it. I really can’t say enough good things about the donkey! I often comment to my husband that Bugaboo should be paying me for the amount of times I get stopped and asked about where I got my stroller ect because it is just so handy! With three kids 3 and under it is so handy to have a spot for all of them. With the Donkey I can have baby stay sleeping in her car seat and just by adding the adapter I can attach her to the stroller. My little man rides in one of the seats and my daughter rides on the Wheeled Board. I also love that if I am just out with one baby or I don’t need the extra seat I can use it in the mono setting and I have an extra storage basket. Even though the cost seems a bit high for the stroller the quality of this stroller is so worth it. A mommy friend of mine was pushing my stroller for me the other day while I was feeding baby and she couldn’t believe how smooth and easy it was to push.
So there are a few of the things that have been helping figure out this mom of 3 thing as well as keeping me sane! On a daily basis I have moments where I am overwhelmed with thankfulness for my 3 miracle babies but my days are busy, busy, busy and having these items help make my life easier!
Enjoy your day everyone!
