Hello October! Hard to believe we are already into a new month and that it is October. I was recently reflecting on how much my life has changed in the past year. Last October my baby boy wasn’t here yet, my little girl was still very much a baby, my blog was just a dream but one thing has remained – how full my heart is. I have so much to be thankful for and so often during my daily routine I am quick to forget about the multiple blessings in my life the big ones and even the ones we would consider small. With Thanksgiving around the corner I want to spend some time writing about some of the things I am thankful for.

Probably for most people when someone asks what you are thankful for the answer is “family” and I would agree I am in that boat. I am so thankful for my family, immediate family and extended family. To say I am blessed doesn’t fully express how thankful and grateful I am. I am married to a man who is not only my best friend but someone who is very hardworking, tender, strong, funny, compassionate and full of life. He has a heart for Jesus which is his most attractive quality. He is also very easy on the eyes and to say I wasn’t attracted to him physically when I first met him would be a lie. Doing life with my man is exciting, fun, at times hard and stressful (no he isn’t the one making it stressful) but it is so rewarding. I love how he has a heart to serve others and he is very protective of the people he loves. He also is huge sports fanatic and always impresses me with his vast knowledge of sports, athletics, stats and even his ability to flip from one game to the next without getting confused.  There really is so much to love about my husband but the way I have fallen in love with him deeper is watching him become a daddy. His love for our babies is so special. I can remember watching him with our daughter when she was born and watching him beam with pride as he introduced her to our families. To say our daughter has him wrapped around his finger would be there truth but watching him become a daddy to a little boy has been so sweet as well. I love listening to him talk to our son about the sports he will play one day and talking about how he needs to protect his big sister when he is older. I pray my son learns a lot from his daddy and grows up to be just like him one day.

I obviously am so thankful for my babies. After all the made me a mommy – my life long dream. They were results of years of prayers (and lots of tears). My daughter is a little bundle of dramatic flare who has grown up in the past few weeks becoming a real little person and less of a baby. I love listening to her talk to her babies and the wonder in her eye when she watches something for the first time. She has a love for crafting and music which melts my heart. She is a petite little thing but for what she lacks in physical size she makes up for in personality. She is a very determined little girl and I know that she is destined for greatness. My sweet baby boy who is almost one (cue mommies tears now) is the sweetest little man. He is such a happy and easy going baby and has been that way since day one. He is a chunky little man but has the softest heart and is so tender towards everything. He is my snuggle bug and I love being his mommy.  I pray that both my babies learn to love Jesus one day and that they grow to be the man and woman Jesus wants them to be. I am so thankful that I get the privilege to be their mommy.

I am thankful for a great relationship with my sister, brother, sister in laws and brother in laws. I know most siblings don’t always stay that close as the get older in life and I do not take my relationship with my siblings for granted. You don’t choose your family like you do your friends so I feel extremely thankful for the brother and sister (inlaw ones included) God gave me. My sister is not only my sister but my best friend and I pray one day my sweet little girl will be able to have a sister to experience the bond that I have with my sissy. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about my siblings and usually I even talk to them everyday. I am thankful for parents and inlaws who raised my husband and I in safe environments in homes that were full of love and gave us opportunities to discover things in life and encouraged us to succeed at whatever we did.
